Our Birthday Girl is 2!

The Birthday Girl getting ready to Watch Sleeping Beauty! Can you tell she loves this movie with all her heart?
It is so hard for me to believe that my baby is 2! Where has the time gone? The past two years have seemed to fly by. It seems like only yesterday that I had her. Boy, has she grown! What a joy it is to watch her become a little girl. It is bitter sweet watching her grow from a baby to a little girl. It is mostly sweet though!! I thank my Father in Heaven everyday for letting this sweet little girl be apart of our little families life. She is such a joy to have around and she brings so much light and laughter into our lives and home. Karmindy is full of spunk which I adore most of the time. Other times, maybe not so much. I am usually not fond of those times that she uses her spunky attitude to try and get what she wants by throwing major-melt- down- tantrums in public places or when she has destroyed some area of the house. All in all though, she is one tough cookie and we love our Little Miss Rose- spunky and all!
For Karmindys birthday, we kept things low key this year. We had planned to take her and Kaleb to the zoo to celebrate but Kaleb woke up with a stomach ache in the morning and then we had a schedule conflict for a delivery(patio furniture) we ended up staying home and postponing our little excursion. We didn't let a few little unplanned events get in our way...We celebrated by going to Texas Roadhouse for dinner and then went to a favorite park to let her and Kaleb play on the playground. After which we came home, watched Sleeping Beauty (her favorite movie of all time right now) opened presents and had cake and ice cream. Grandpa and Grandma Frisbey also joined us for the birthday celebration and it was nice to have them share the evening with us. Happy Birthday Little Miss Karmindy Rose! We love you dearly!Karmindy working hard on coloring while waiting for her birthday dinner. She loves bread and so she mostly ate rolls (See the plate with all the torn pieces of bread? I love that she likes carbs!)She was slightly bugged that I was taking pictures of her. She is hard to get to smile for any pictures and this is the best picture I could get of her while enjoying her dinner. I told you she was spunky!Opening a Present from Mom, Dad and Kaleb.
For part of her birthday present this year, I refinished her room into a toddler room. We bought her a little pink recliner, new curtains and a bed in a bag set for her "BiG Girl Room." She has been so proud of herself for sleeping in a big girl bed!Playing with her Snap and Style Shiatsu (Karmindy loves animals; especially dogs!)Karmindy's Birthday CakeKarmindy loved having everyone sing to her! I love how she is beaming while her daddy is holding her!

Aspiring Make-Up Artist?

When I was pregnant with Karmindy, Mark and I went through many lists of girl names to find the perfect name for our little princess. One of our favorite shows to watch while I was pregnant was a show on TLC. It is called "What Not To Wear!" For those of you who aren't familiar with the show, there are two very witty co hosts, Stacie London and Clinton Kelly who help "make over" if you will, someone who has no fashion sense. In this make over process, the subjects receiving help, will get clothing help from Stacie and Clinton and then go on to Nick for a Hair Make Over and finish up with Carmindy for skin/make up help. Mark and I watched many episodes while I was pregnant. Isn't Mark a good sport? I think so. I secretly think he enjoyed himself as much as I did when we watched these poor people with no fashion sense get made over into beautiful men and women. Don't tell any of his guy friends though because I know he would say, "That is like taking a few man cards away from my deck!" Whatever that means! ( I love you honey!) When watching this show, we fell in love with the name Carmindy. We thought it was so pretty! The name stuck but we tweaked it a bit and spelled it Karmindy with a K because her brothers name also started with a K. I know what you are thinking... Either I am way too cutesie or I deal with a bad case of OCD. Well, I suffer from both!

I don't know about you but I think Karmindy might be trying to revert to where her name came from. Just this past week, she has taken a serious interest in my make up. She loves to watch me get ready in the mornings and will sit on my bathroom floor and watch me go through my hair and make up regimen . She loves when I indulge her and put a little rouge on her cheeks and a little lipstick on her lips. I think she has been watching me a little too closely lately while I put on my mascara as well because this is what I found when the house was a little too quiet one afternoon:

I was more shocked than anything! And I was so glad that she didn't poke her eye out! I didn't get mad at her but gasped when I saw her sitting on my bathroom floor With Mascara all over her cheek and face. I think by the look on my face I must have looked upset and worried because Karmindy burst into tears! Hence her sad eyes! I really don't mind if my daughter has a love for make up, I just think it will be wise if she waits a few more years to experiment... Like 12 more years? Is that too much to ask?

Mothers Day Weekend Part 2

After our little family party with my parents we headed home and Mark let me take a nap while he tidied up the house. Mark and Kaleb surprised me with these presents when I got up!
Kaleb's sweet little hand printsKalebs beautiful artwork. He told me that me and him are painting the flowers and Karmindy and Dad are swimming (purple circle) in the pool. I love my children's artwork. It is so fun to listen to them tell me about their pictures. I also am loving how far Kaleb has come with writing his name. He is doing so well!!This is the cute little packet that he put his handprints and picture in!

I loved Kaleb's Mothers Day gifts that he made for me in Preschool. He was very admit about not giving me my presents and waited till Mark got home from work one day so that he could have his dad help hide his gift from me. Kaleb is so sweet and puts 110% in everything he does. It was so fun to see the excitement in his face about the job that he did on my gift. I love my little man.

I am also grateful for Mark... Mark got me a Beach Crusier Bike. I have been wanting one for so long. I can't wait til when it comes in the mail! I can't wait to hook it up to my my bike trailer/stroller and take the kids for bike rides this summer!!
I am truly grateful for my Mother and all that she has done and continues to do for me and my lil' family. I am also grateful to be a mother! I truly feel so fortunate to be Kaleb and Karmindys mom. They are such special little people and are truly remarkable. I am not saying that because I am their mom. They both are examples to me in many ways! I feel honored to be their mom! Happy Mothers Day to all the special woman in my life! I love you all!

Mother's Day Weekend

I had a really nice Mothers day weekend. My parents were able to come up for a little visit and it was so nice to see them and spend time with them. I couldn't have asked for a better present. It has been hard on me with our family living so far away from them. My parents aren't real big travelers and they don't make it up to Northern Utah very often, so it was a real treat to have them come up and stay for the weekend.
Saturday May 8th, 2010
My parents drove up on Saturday morning and spent part of the afternoon with our little family. Later that night, Mark took me and the kids to La Costa in Sandy for some delicious Mexican food. I love their Crab Enchiladas! After dinner, we headed up to the Little America where my parents were staying and we went swimming with them in the pool. The kids had a blast swimming. Mark worked with Kaleb on his swimming and I enjoyed playing with Karmindy. Karmindy loved to go down the stairs in the pool. She would go down the stairs and then want me to swim with her over to the side so she could get out of the pool and go down the stairs again.(go figure) She also loved jumping into my arms while standing on the deck of the pool. So cute!
Sunday May 9th, 2010
On Sunday, my parents came with us to our Sacrament Meeting. After Sacrament meeting the six of us headed out early and we went to the Mothers Day Brunch Buffet at the Little America. The food was scrumptious! I had my fill of crab legs, shrimp, salmon and gorged myself on their delectable desserts. A favorite of Kaleb's was the chocolate fountain. Kaleb had 3 huge chocolate dipped strawberries!! I couldn't believe that he ate every last bite!Don't you just love Kaleb's Chocolate Smeard face?Karmindy enjoying helping mom eat some dessert!
Me with my little gems. Karmindy was more interested in eating dessert than getting her picture taken. Smart girl!

After Brunch we went back to my parents room and we visited and had a little party for Karmindy. Karmindy enjoyed opening up her presents from her Nanna D and Papa. She loved the Snap n' Style Doll (think Polly Pockets only bigger) my parents gave her and she also got the cutest little sundress from them. I can't wait for her to wear it! It was so nice to be able to spend time with my parents and it was so nice for my kids to spend time with them too.
My kids adore their Grandparents!
Karmindy with her birthday presents from Nanna D and PappaKarmindy knew exactly what to do! She loved opening her gifts!
Brother offering a little assistance... Kaleb said this to me when he saw the presents my parents brought with them for Karmindy, "Mom, can we just pretend it's my birthday too?" Believe me he wasn't left out. My mom and dad got him a little tiny pin ball machine to take home so he didn't feel so left out. Seriously? My kids are truly so spoiled!

Princess Peepers & her Crush

My friend emailed me these adorable pictures of Karmindy and her son, Luke. My friend and I take turns almost every weekend watching each others kids so we can get out with our handsome hubbies for date night. While my friend was watching Karmindy and Kaleb one evening, Karmindy and her little buddy, Luke, found his Mr. Potato head and took turns wearing the glasses around the house. Karmindy + Luke= adorable. These two are quite the mischief makers and these pictures showcase their true personalities.Luke wearing Mr. Potato head glasses!Princess Peepers!
I have to write down this next experience about these two as well. Last weekend, I watched my friends kids so her and her hubby could get away for an over night trip for their anniversary. As I was watching the kids that night, it became very quiet and I became a little suspicious of what Karmindy and Luke were up to. As I made my way around the corner, I found the two of them kissing in the hallway. I just stood there flabbergasted and in awe!! Since when do
two-year-olds know how to kiss? Apparently, my daughter is a natural and so is Luke. My friend and I have vowed to keep an eye on these two. I think our two kidlets might be crushing on one another and we might have to keep our eyes on these two! My daughter continues to surprise me with her mischievous antics; although, they probably shouldn't by now! I think I might have my work cut out for me with this child!! May the good Lord have mercy on me because I think parenting this little one is going to be one adventurous and bumpy ride!

I Heart Primary!

I absolutely love primary! Right now I have the opportunity to serve in the primary presidency in my ward. Each week is extremely fun because the kids make it that way! I love being able to rub shoulders with these special little spirits and it is a privilege to watch their testimonies grow. I think my testimony grows the most; especially, since I learn more from them than they do from me. Another thing that I like is being able to rub shoulders with some of the Primary teachers. We have some really great primary teachers in our ward and I am truly grateful to them because a lot of them go above and beyond to help the kids in their classes learn. I am really thankful for my sons primary teachers. For the first time in long while he actually comes home excited to tell me what he has learned in primary rather than me having to drag it out of him. Maybe it is because he is getting older but he really seems to be enjoying going to primary, his class and he especially loves his teachers. Not that Kaleb didn't enjoy primary before but he seems to really enjoy it now! I think that kids can truly pick up on the love that their teachers have for them and those that take their calling seriously. Today, Kaleb came home and told me how they learned about choosing the right. How his teachers had played a fun game with the kids to help them learn. He also was pretty proud of himself ( I was proud of him too) because he received the "Most patient crown" and no one else did because he was helpful and waited his turn for their coloring/gluing activity. Kaleb came home wearing his crown and had on a CTR shield over one arm and a sword in the other! I hope Kaleb will continue to love going to primary and enjoy learning about the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Ms. Personality

As most of you have learned by now, my daughter has a lot of personality. Lots of personality is code for spunky, feisty and very determined. I know that she has some of you fooled but ask her nursery leaders at church she is a feisty one & a serious cryer!! There is never a dull moment when lil' Miss Dee Dee is roaming around the house. She seems to find things to play with that are put up high and out of her reach. To my dismay, she always reaches what she wants! I think I might need to find higher hiding places or at least get creative with hiding things. My worry is that I will forget where I hide things. I blame it on my mommy brain. Anywho, Karmindy is a girl who knows what she wants and how to get it. As her mom, I hope that this is an indication of good things to come and that she will focus that hard work in a good direction and not a bad one. Wink,Wink. One thing that my daughter loves to play with are my sun glasses. Even though I usually have champagne tastes but have a beer budget, I refuse to spend more than $15 dollars on a pair of sunglasses. Thankfully I follow that rule. I have purchased more sunglasses during my daughters life than my sons. Why is that? I will give you the answer... My daughter sneaks them out of my purse when I am not looking and will wear them around the house until I come upon the broken bits shoved into some random corner as if to hide the remnants so mom doesn't find out. Oh my! This week I was able to find her before my latest pair was pulled apart and broken to bits and I captured my little diva/ movie star in the act. Oh, how I love my daughter but boy has she got some serious personality and I am hoping I can channel that personality into some form of greater good!My movie star!I am ready for my press conference, Babe!I'm so vain. I love to look at myself in the mirror and my mom occasionally finds "kiss" marks on her bedroom mirror!!

Miss Mischievous...

has been making a few messes lately that I have just wanted to write down before I forget. As most of you know, Karmindy has a lot of personality and that personality seems to get her into mischief most days. I always know there is trouble when things are quiet around the house. I was working on a sewing project one morning this past week and it was extremely quiet. I stopped what I was doing and decided to grab my camera just in case I might have a kodak moment on my hands. In deed I did. I peaked into my bedroom and this is what I found....
Karmindy was just working away and plucking at the keys, just like her dad. As I continued to watch her, I think she knew she was being watched....Busted!!!!
What was really funny is that she hurried and sat up and then closed the laptop and looked at me as if to say, "What? I haven't been doing anything!"

This may seem like something mild that an approaching two year old may do but just yesterday took the cake. I was livid!! I was on the phone with a friend and I was in my bedroom relaxing on my bed. I was only on the phone for a total of 10 minutes but in that time Karmindy got into the hallway bathroom and turned on the water in the bathroom tub. She then pulled up the latch for the shower option and left it spraying the whole bathroom. I did not know this was going on til Kaleb came running in my room yelling, "Mom! There is something very, very wrong going on in my bathroom!" I got off the phone in a flash and ran to their bathroom to find at least 1/2 inch of standing water on the bathroom floor. The floor rugs were soaked, the walls were drenched. It was a huge mess!!
I wish my daughter would act more like this....and not this....(don't let that cute smile fool ya!)
We will see what today entails, everyday is an adventure with Karmindy!

Baseball, Yard Work & My Little Spring Chick!

As of late, the activities at the Frisbey home have consisted of running to and from Kalebs baseball games, and Yard work. Then in my spare time, I have been sewing a few sun dresses for Karmindy. I love life when it is so full!!

Kaleb is coming a long really well with his baseball. He is catching on and I see some real talent in him. It is so fun to watch him progress in such a short couple of weeks. He is doing well with his throwing and catching! We are still working on hitting the ball with those heavy bats. He does pretty good and has even gotten a couple of hits at his games. Most of the time though he hits the ball off the tee. I know that I am his mom but I think that we might have a baseball player on our hands! I love watching Kaleb get so excited for his practices and games. Mostly I love watching him enjoy the sport!! Here are a few pictures that I have taken of Kaleb while at his games.

When we aren't busy with baseball we are working on our yard. For those of you that know, our yard was seriously a wreck when we bought our home. It was a short sale and the previous owner(s) just let the beautiful yard go. Mark and I have been busy trying to revive the grass with fertilizing and watering. We have also tweaked the flower beds and the areas around our trees to make them look more pleasing to the eye. Are next step is preparing to pour curbing around these areas. I am excited for the transformations and I am hoping we can get our yard in even better shape this year than last. It is always such a waiting game for lawn and other plants come back after being neglected. It is especially hard for me because I have no patience and love having things "now!" This waiting game is definitely teaching me patience.

In my down time in the evenings when the kids are in bed, I have been sewing and making hair bows for Karmindy. It is so relaxing to make things for her and I enjoy this "me time" at the end of the day. It is also nice to have something to show for my evenings instead of watching the good ol' boob tube! Here is one of the latest sundresses and a couple of hair bows that I have made for Karmindy. Here are a few picture of my cute little Spring Chick. Isn't she cute?

Karmindy was not in the picture taking mood. Check out that sulky face!Kamrindy warmed up a little to the idea of getting her picture taken when I gave her one of my daffodils to hold. I have such a diva on my hands but I love her bunches!

It's Game Time!

Yesterday was Kaleb's first Baseball game! He was so excited and counted down the days until his game. Then on game day he counted the hours until we headed out the door to go to the baseball field. Kaleb looked so official with his last name written on the back of his t-shirt. He also has the cutest matching hat. Kaleb and the boys on his team were so darling to watch. Since they are still so little, the game really ended up being a hit-a-thon between the two teams. None of the boys manned the bases and they all just stood in one line and waited for the ball to be hit to them. Then they would attempt to throw the ball to first to try and get the hitter from the other team out. Very cute and funny to watch. My favorite part of the game is watching the boys run the bases with their huge helmets on. They look like bobble heads! What a joy it is to watch Kaleb at this stage of his life! I love it! Kaleb was being a stinker and wouldn't let me take or get any pictures of him hitting or smiling for the camera. Next time I will do my best to get some pictures of him in action and just not let him know! I think I might have a "5 -year- old- turning- teenager" on my hands. Apparently, he is too cool for getting pictures taken in front of his friends.

* The picture to the top right is of Kaleb (3) with his friend Caleb Bradford(5). They are waiting for their turn to bat.

Take me Out to the Ball Game...

About a month ago, Mark and I decided that Kaleb was old enough to participate in an extracurricular activity. We decided to sign him up for Spring (Coach pitch) Baseball.
This is Kaleb's first year at giving baseball a try. There are some fun perks that go along with it too! The first perk, is that there are a couple of boys/friends that are in our neighborhood and ward that are on his team. The second great perk is that Mark was asked to be the Head Coach. Mark was also able to pick his assistant coach and that has been nice because he was able to pick one of our neighbors and friends to help him. The assistant coach is a dad to one of Kalebs friends that is on the team.
When Kaleb found out that his dad was going to be the coach, he was so excited. He loves having his dad as his coach!! It is so cute to watch Kaleb get so excited and ask when the next practice is going to be with his dad.
It is such a joy to watch Kaleb and Mark play in our back yard and at the practices together. I have seen a huge improvement in Kaleb over the past few weeks of practices and can't wait to watch him play his first game this weekend! It is so much fun to see him run the bases with a huge helmet on his head. I am so glad that Kaleb is enjoying this experience of playing ball but mostly getting the opportunity to spend time with his dad. Let's Go A's!

Celebrating Easter...

Wednesday March 31st
Kaleb's Preschool Easter PartyOur Celebrations this year began on Wednesday! Well, at least for Kaleb. He had his Easter Party at Preschool this day. They made Easter baskets that looked like bunnies and made Easter bunny ears to wear during their festivities. All the kids were encouraged to bring a treat to share with their class mates. Kaleb said they watched an Easter bunny movie and played some games and sang songs. I am so glad that his preschool does fun holiday themed parties. It really has been fun this year to watch Kaleb learn so much and watch him get excited for upcoming holidays!!

Thursday April 1st
Package in the Mail
We had a knock on the door, it was our mailman delivering a package for Kaleb and Karmindy. My mom and dad are always so thoughtful and never forget sending something to the kids for the holidays. My mom always finds the cutest toys or trinkets for her grand kids! The kids were so excited to be getting a package from Nana D and Grandpa. Kaleb tore into the box and the kids found some rice crispies and fruit roll ups! Their favorites! My Mom my also sent up the cutest fairy doll for Karmindy and a paddle ball game for Kaleb. They loved their presents and have been playing with them constantly since they got them.
Friday April 2nd

Coloring Eggs with Friends
On Friday we got together with friends and colored eggs. Kaleb had been counting down the days all week to color eggs with one of his very good friends, Matthew. The boys had a ton of fun mixing colors and making fun designs. It was fun to watch the boys get so excited!! They came up with some really fun designs and colors!

Saturday April 3rd

The Easter Bunny Finds our HomeThe Easter Bunny comes a day earlier at our home on Easter Weekend. He did this when I was growing up and I loved it. When I was little I liked getting my Easter basket a day earlier than friends. Now that I am grown up, I see why that smart Easter bunny came a day earlier- It was so we could focus on the True meaning of Easter on Sunday. We have continued that tradition in my own little family now. Low and behold, the Easter bunny followed through again this year and dropped off and hid the kids baskets for them. When Kaleb woke up on Saturday morning, he seemed a little upset. He said, "Mom, you forgot to put our baskets out for the Easter bunny!" I told him that I hadn't and that the Easter bunny hides the baskets and that he would have to go look for his! He immediately got excited and started roaming the house in search of his basket. He found his basket and his sisters as well!! Both Kaleb and Karmindy enjoyed their Easter baskets and the treats/little gifts that were in them.Sunday April 4th
General Conference

It doesn't happen very often, but I love when General Conference falls on Easter Weekend. There is just something really special about hearing from the prophet and the other general authorities on this special day! I thoroughly enjoyed all the talks (the few talks that I got to hear while my kids made all kinds of noise while playing in the living room). I love how answers to my prayers or questions that I may be searching for are answered or talked about in General Conference. What a spiritual high! I can't wait for the messages to come out in May so I can read through them again!
