Princess Peepers & her Crush

My friend emailed me these adorable pictures of Karmindy and her son, Luke. My friend and I take turns almost every weekend watching each others kids so we can get out with our handsome hubbies for date night. While my friend was watching Karmindy and Kaleb one evening, Karmindy and her little buddy, Luke, found his Mr. Potato head and took turns wearing the glasses around the house. Karmindy + Luke= adorable. These two are quite the mischief makers and these pictures showcase their true personalities.Luke wearing Mr. Potato head glasses!Princess Peepers!
I have to write down this next experience about these two as well. Last weekend, I watched my friends kids so her and her hubby could get away for an over night trip for their anniversary. As I was watching the kids that night, it became very quiet and I became a little suspicious of what Karmindy and Luke were up to. As I made my way around the corner, I found the two of them kissing in the hallway. I just stood there flabbergasted and in awe!! Since when do
two-year-olds know how to kiss? Apparently, my daughter is a natural and so is Luke. My friend and I have vowed to keep an eye on these two. I think our two kidlets might be crushing on one another and we might have to keep our eyes on these two! My daughter continues to surprise me with her mischievous antics; although, they probably shouldn't by now! I think I might have my work cut out for me with this child!! May the good Lord have mercy on me because I think parenting this little one is going to be one adventurous and bumpy ride!

I Heart Primary!

I absolutely love primary! Right now I have the opportunity to serve in the primary presidency in my ward. Each week is extremely fun because the kids make it that way! I love being able to rub shoulders with these special little spirits and it is a privilege to watch their testimonies grow. I think my testimony grows the most; especially, since I learn more from them than they do from me. Another thing that I like is being able to rub shoulders with some of the Primary teachers. We have some really great primary teachers in our ward and I am truly grateful to them because a lot of them go above and beyond to help the kids in their classes learn. I am really thankful for my sons primary teachers. For the first time in long while he actually comes home excited to tell me what he has learned in primary rather than me having to drag it out of him. Maybe it is because he is getting older but he really seems to be enjoying going to primary, his class and he especially loves his teachers. Not that Kaleb didn't enjoy primary before but he seems to really enjoy it now! I think that kids can truly pick up on the love that their teachers have for them and those that take their calling seriously. Today, Kaleb came home and told me how they learned about choosing the right. How his teachers had played a fun game with the kids to help them learn. He also was pretty proud of himself ( I was proud of him too) because he received the "Most patient crown" and no one else did because he was helpful and waited his turn for their coloring/gluing activity. Kaleb came home wearing his crown and had on a CTR shield over one arm and a sword in the other! I hope Kaleb will continue to love going to primary and enjoy learning about the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

Ms. Personality

As most of you have learned by now, my daughter has a lot of personality. Lots of personality is code for spunky, feisty and very determined. I know that she has some of you fooled but ask her nursery leaders at church she is a feisty one & a serious cryer!! There is never a dull moment when lil' Miss Dee Dee is roaming around the house. She seems to find things to play with that are put up high and out of her reach. To my dismay, she always reaches what she wants! I think I might need to find higher hiding places or at least get creative with hiding things. My worry is that I will forget where I hide things. I blame it on my mommy brain. Anywho, Karmindy is a girl who knows what she wants and how to get it. As her mom, I hope that this is an indication of good things to come and that she will focus that hard work in a good direction and not a bad one. Wink,Wink. One thing that my daughter loves to play with are my sun glasses. Even though I usually have champagne tastes but have a beer budget, I refuse to spend more than $15 dollars on a pair of sunglasses. Thankfully I follow that rule. I have purchased more sunglasses during my daughters life than my sons. Why is that? I will give you the answer... My daughter sneaks them out of my purse when I am not looking and will wear them around the house until I come upon the broken bits shoved into some random corner as if to hide the remnants so mom doesn't find out. Oh my! This week I was able to find her before my latest pair was pulled apart and broken to bits and I captured my little diva/ movie star in the act. Oh, how I love my daughter but boy has she got some serious personality and I am hoping I can channel that personality into some form of greater good!My movie star!I am ready for my press conference, Babe!I'm so vain. I love to look at myself in the mirror and my mom occasionally finds "kiss" marks on her bedroom mirror!!

Miss Mischievous...

has been making a few messes lately that I have just wanted to write down before I forget. As most of you know, Karmindy has a lot of personality and that personality seems to get her into mischief most days. I always know there is trouble when things are quiet around the house. I was working on a sewing project one morning this past week and it was extremely quiet. I stopped what I was doing and decided to grab my camera just in case I might have a kodak moment on my hands. In deed I did. I peaked into my bedroom and this is what I found....
Karmindy was just working away and plucking at the keys, just like her dad. As I continued to watch her, I think she knew she was being watched....Busted!!!!
What was really funny is that she hurried and sat up and then closed the laptop and looked at me as if to say, "What? I haven't been doing anything!"

This may seem like something mild that an approaching two year old may do but just yesterday took the cake. I was livid!! I was on the phone with a friend and I was in my bedroom relaxing on my bed. I was only on the phone for a total of 10 minutes but in that time Karmindy got into the hallway bathroom and turned on the water in the bathroom tub. She then pulled up the latch for the shower option and left it spraying the whole bathroom. I did not know this was going on til Kaleb came running in my room yelling, "Mom! There is something very, very wrong going on in my bathroom!" I got off the phone in a flash and ran to their bathroom to find at least 1/2 inch of standing water on the bathroom floor. The floor rugs were soaked, the walls were drenched. It was a huge mess!!
I wish my daughter would act more like this....and not this....(don't let that cute smile fool ya!)
We will see what today entails, everyday is an adventure with Karmindy!

Baseball, Yard Work & My Little Spring Chick!

As of late, the activities at the Frisbey home have consisted of running to and from Kalebs baseball games, and Yard work. Then in my spare time, I have been sewing a few sun dresses for Karmindy. I love life when it is so full!!

Kaleb is coming a long really well with his baseball. He is catching on and I see some real talent in him. It is so fun to watch him progress in such a short couple of weeks. He is doing well with his throwing and catching! We are still working on hitting the ball with those heavy bats. He does pretty good and has even gotten a couple of hits at his games. Most of the time though he hits the ball off the tee. I know that I am his mom but I think that we might have a baseball player on our hands! I love watching Kaleb get so excited for his practices and games. Mostly I love watching him enjoy the sport!! Here are a few pictures that I have taken of Kaleb while at his games.

When we aren't busy with baseball we are working on our yard. For those of you that know, our yard was seriously a wreck when we bought our home. It was a short sale and the previous owner(s) just let the beautiful yard go. Mark and I have been busy trying to revive the grass with fertilizing and watering. We have also tweaked the flower beds and the areas around our trees to make them look more pleasing to the eye. Are next step is preparing to pour curbing around these areas. I am excited for the transformations and I am hoping we can get our yard in even better shape this year than last. It is always such a waiting game for lawn and other plants come back after being neglected. It is especially hard for me because I have no patience and love having things "now!" This waiting game is definitely teaching me patience.

In my down time in the evenings when the kids are in bed, I have been sewing and making hair bows for Karmindy. It is so relaxing to make things for her and I enjoy this "me time" at the end of the day. It is also nice to have something to show for my evenings instead of watching the good ol' boob tube! Here is one of the latest sundresses and a couple of hair bows that I have made for Karmindy. Here are a few picture of my cute little Spring Chick. Isn't she cute?

Karmindy was not in the picture taking mood. Check out that sulky face!Kamrindy warmed up a little to the idea of getting her picture taken when I gave her one of my daffodils to hold. I have such a diva on my hands but I love her bunches!

It's Game Time!

Yesterday was Kaleb's first Baseball game! He was so excited and counted down the days until his game. Then on game day he counted the hours until we headed out the door to go to the baseball field. Kaleb looked so official with his last name written on the back of his t-shirt. He also has the cutest matching hat. Kaleb and the boys on his team were so darling to watch. Since they are still so little, the game really ended up being a hit-a-thon between the two teams. None of the boys manned the bases and they all just stood in one line and waited for the ball to be hit to them. Then they would attempt to throw the ball to first to try and get the hitter from the other team out. Very cute and funny to watch. My favorite part of the game is watching the boys run the bases with their huge helmets on. They look like bobble heads! What a joy it is to watch Kaleb at this stage of his life! I love it! Kaleb was being a stinker and wouldn't let me take or get any pictures of him hitting or smiling for the camera. Next time I will do my best to get some pictures of him in action and just not let him know! I think I might have a "5 -year- old- turning- teenager" on my hands. Apparently, he is too cool for getting pictures taken in front of his friends.

* The picture to the top right is of Kaleb (3) with his friend Caleb Bradford(5). They are waiting for their turn to bat.

Take me Out to the Ball Game...

About a month ago, Mark and I decided that Kaleb was old enough to participate in an extracurricular activity. We decided to sign him up for Spring (Coach pitch) Baseball.
This is Kaleb's first year at giving baseball a try. There are some fun perks that go along with it too! The first perk, is that there are a couple of boys/friends that are in our neighborhood and ward that are on his team. The second great perk is that Mark was asked to be the Head Coach. Mark was also able to pick his assistant coach and that has been nice because he was able to pick one of our neighbors and friends to help him. The assistant coach is a dad to one of Kalebs friends that is on the team.
When Kaleb found out that his dad was going to be the coach, he was so excited. He loves having his dad as his coach!! It is so cute to watch Kaleb get so excited and ask when the next practice is going to be with his dad.
It is such a joy to watch Kaleb and Mark play in our back yard and at the practices together. I have seen a huge improvement in Kaleb over the past few weeks of practices and can't wait to watch him play his first game this weekend! It is so much fun to see him run the bases with a huge helmet on his head. I am so glad that Kaleb is enjoying this experience of playing ball but mostly getting the opportunity to spend time with his dad. Let's Go A's!

Celebrating Easter...

Wednesday March 31st
Kaleb's Preschool Easter PartyOur Celebrations this year began on Wednesday! Well, at least for Kaleb. He had his Easter Party at Preschool this day. They made Easter baskets that looked like bunnies and made Easter bunny ears to wear during their festivities. All the kids were encouraged to bring a treat to share with their class mates. Kaleb said they watched an Easter bunny movie and played some games and sang songs. I am so glad that his preschool does fun holiday themed parties. It really has been fun this year to watch Kaleb learn so much and watch him get excited for upcoming holidays!!

Thursday April 1st
Package in the Mail
We had a knock on the door, it was our mailman delivering a package for Kaleb and Karmindy. My mom and dad are always so thoughtful and never forget sending something to the kids for the holidays. My mom always finds the cutest toys or trinkets for her grand kids! The kids were so excited to be getting a package from Nana D and Grandpa. Kaleb tore into the box and the kids found some rice crispies and fruit roll ups! Their favorites! My Mom my also sent up the cutest fairy doll for Karmindy and a paddle ball game for Kaleb. They loved their presents and have been playing with them constantly since they got them.
Friday April 2nd

Coloring Eggs with Friends
On Friday we got together with friends and colored eggs. Kaleb had been counting down the days all week to color eggs with one of his very good friends, Matthew. The boys had a ton of fun mixing colors and making fun designs. It was fun to watch the boys get so excited!! They came up with some really fun designs and colors!

Saturday April 3rd

The Easter Bunny Finds our HomeThe Easter Bunny comes a day earlier at our home on Easter Weekend. He did this when I was growing up and I loved it. When I was little I liked getting my Easter basket a day earlier than friends. Now that I am grown up, I see why that smart Easter bunny came a day earlier- It was so we could focus on the True meaning of Easter on Sunday. We have continued that tradition in my own little family now. Low and behold, the Easter bunny followed through again this year and dropped off and hid the kids baskets for them. When Kaleb woke up on Saturday morning, he seemed a little upset. He said, "Mom, you forgot to put our baskets out for the Easter bunny!" I told him that I hadn't and that the Easter bunny hides the baskets and that he would have to go look for his! He immediately got excited and started roaming the house in search of his basket. He found his basket and his sisters as well!! Both Kaleb and Karmindy enjoyed their Easter baskets and the treats/little gifts that were in them.Sunday April 4th
General Conference

It doesn't happen very often, but I love when General Conference falls on Easter Weekend. There is just something really special about hearing from the prophet and the other general authorities on this special day! I thoroughly enjoyed all the talks (the few talks that I got to hear while my kids made all kinds of noise while playing in the living room). I love how answers to my prayers or questions that I may be searching for are answered or talked about in General Conference. What a spiritual high! I can't wait for the messages to come out in May so I can read through them again!

This is the place...

Monument park ended up "not being the place" to take the Kids to their 2ND Annual Free Easter Egg hunt this last Saturday. I have learned my lesson and when anything is advertised as "Free" that should be a sign to turn and "head for the hills", my friends! My friend and I took our kids to the Easter Egg hunt and in our decision making, we decided that we would go early and get a good parking spot because we anticipated that the parking would be crazy. Needless to say it was busy, but we were lucky and scored a close spot to the park and made our way up the hill to the small line(to wait our turns to go into the park). We made good time and got to the park around 1:30. The egg hunt was supposed to start at 2. While standing in line we learned that the egg hunt would not begin till 2:30. While waiting the kids became antsy with excitement and we let them run around close to our original spot of waiting in line. As the time drew near we waited close to the line in the general area that we had originally been standing. We weren't in a hurry by any means because the egg hunt didn't start till 2:30 and they said that all of the (I swear 2,000+) people would be let into the park before the hunt began.
Shortly before 2, the line began to move and that is when our good time ended up being a not so fun time. A man in line started yelling at my friend and me as we herded our 4 kids back into the line to start moving. He told us we were butting and that he would do everything in his power to make sure we weren't allowed in the park! He also started telling us that it was unfair to all the other 2,000 people that were in line after us. He told us we were dishonest and couldn't believe the kind of people we were! We tried to calmly tell him that we were in line and had been in line and also that the egg hunt wasn't going to start until everyone was in the park. This made him more mad! To make this long story short, he continued to grumble loudly and speak ill words to us, while the kids just stood there scared. He had completely sucked the fun out of it for us and everyone around us. Seriously! All for a couple dollars of "free" eggs and candy! We should've turned around and came home because our outing just kept getting worse.
When all is said and done, we got into the park and waited another half hour to 45 minutes after being let into the park and the kids didn't get one egg on their own after the whistle to get the eggs was blown. Thankfully, A worker gave our kids each an egg with candy in them. Kaleb got an egg that had a golden egg in it and he won a Frisbee! How ironic! We ended up leaving nearly empty handed and no plastic Frisbee in tow. (My two darling little Frisbey's were with me) The line to get the prizes was like 1,000 people long. Was it really worth standing in line for another 2 hours to get a two dollar Frisbee? No! My friend and I left with crying, upset children, vowing never to go to another "free" public egg hunt for the rest of our lives! To make it up to the kids we stopped for treats at Wendy's! I think they will forgive us with time for subjecting them to the egg hunt torture.Later that night, Mark and I went to Walmart to pick up a swing set for the kids. (A gift from the Easter bunny). Guess who I saw and walked right by? Mr. Crank!!! He saw me and gave me the look of death. If looks could kill my friends, I would not be writing this post and sharing my joyous time that I had at "This is the place" park with ya' all.

I did get some cute pictures of my kids (mostly Karmindy since Kaleb is beginning to think he is too old for pictures) while waiting for the egg hunt to start. There is a plus to every experience I say! Hope all my friends out there have a better egg hunting experience this year than we did. We will be forgoing the city egg hunt this Saturday and holding the 1st Annual Frisbey Egg hunt in our Back yard. You are all welcome to join us and boycott the madness and the notion of "Free!" Since the word "free" attracts the crazies!
Hope you all have a Happy Easter!

Discovery Gateway

This past Thursday, one of my good friends and neighbor invited us (Kaleb, Karmindy, and myself) to go downtown with her and her kids to the Children's Museum. I jumped at the chance because I have been wanting to take the kids there for so long and just haven't had the opportunity to go yet. It was also nice for the kids to go with some of their friends and experience it with them. The Museum is so cute and the kids had a blast checking out all the fun things!! Both Karmindy and Kaleb had several favorites. Kaleb loved the building site area, the Farm and the store. Karmindy loved the farm, holding the stuffed chichens (chickens), riding the tractor and playing in the life like house. We spent the majority of the time in the farm area!! Can you tell my kids long for their country roots? Kaleb was truly in heaven in the farm area and enjoyed hauling the fake bales of hay everywhere and putting his produce on the conveyer belt to load up his crops for the harvest. He also loved planting and harvesting the fake garden. Grandpa DeMille would be proud of his grandkids! It was so much fun to see the kids get excited about this excursion and I am glad that we got to spend the day and experience it with friends!Karmindy gathering eggs from the chicken coup!Karmindy loved the stuffed chichens!

Kaleb and Karmindy enjoying a ride on the horse!Future John Wayne!? He is so comfortable with horses and anything to do with being out on the farm!Loading the veggies they harvested on the conveyor belt.Kaleb checking out his groceries!I Hope this doesn't come to pass for another few years! Jaxon is gassing up the car and these crazy kids are hitting the town!Kaleb helping unload the blocks in the building area! Hard hats are a must!Cheese! The kids flying the Life - like "life flight" helicopter!
A future in show biz? I think these are the future news anchors for channel 5 news! They are handsome and are so charismatic!

Kid's say the darndest things....

So as I was writing the previous post this morning, Kaleb came in and asked when I was going to be done typing on the computer. I told him in a minute and he left the room. After about a minute he came back in and said, "Mom, while I am at preschool today, I need you to do two things for me." I asked what they were and he said, " I need you to take a shower and go to the store and buy me some strawberry yogurt because dad ate it all." Can you believe that? Too funny. Apparently, I need to shower(I must stink and apparently I embarrass Kaleb with my disheveled look of sweats and large t-shirt) and get ready for the day and then go buy the prince his yogurt. I love my little boy!

Spring is in the Air...

The weather has been pretty nice lately and we have had some nice warm days up here in Northern Utah. It isn't as warm as Southern Utah were I grew up but I think I have acclimatized and I am enjoying that hint of warmness in the still cool air! I know that the first day of spring has come and gone but we get a late start on spring up here in the mountains. I love it though! I have been busy getting things ready for Easter weekend and decorating the house with the kids to get them excited for the upcoming holiday. I found this cute wreath at one of my favorite grocery stores and just had to have it. It is gracing my front door right now and I love the
pretty pastel colors!!
I have my daffodils and my hyacinths planted in my front planter and I am awaiting their beautiful blooms. (Hopefully I don't kill them!)
I also enjoy watching this little sweetheart play with the Colored plastic Easter eggs that I have around the house. I also enjoy dressing her up in girly "spring" things and she loves it. My friend made this cute little skirt for her for Christmas and it finally fits her. Isn't she precious? I sure think so!

Meet My New Best Friend...

her Name is Husqvarna Emerald 116. I have been wanting a sewing machine for "sew" long!! After many months of trying to convince my hubby to let me get one, he finally gave in. Thanks Honey! You treat me so good! I also got a great deal on my sewing machine at JoAnn's in Draper! I got over $100.00 off. Hurray for great deals! I brought my new friend home last night and my very talented friend that I have talked about before came over and we went through the owners manual trying all the stitches and gadgets. I think she may have been even more excited than I was! Wink, Wink. Needless to say, I am really glad that I have my own sewing machine and now me and my good friend can get together in the evenings and both sew on our machines instead of sharing her sewing machine. I am "sew" excited to start some new sewing projects.

Two Weeks ago, I "cooked up" this darling little dress for my daughter. The dress originally had a bow on the side where the flower is but I decided that a flower hair clip would be a little less maintenance. I thought it turned out adorable! I can't wait for the weather to warm up a bit so Karmindy can wear her sundress.
This past week I completed my latest "cooking" project... I am pretty proud of myself and I am looking forward to sewing some more skirts like this. Of course they will be in different colors and may have some new embellishments like ruffles and Ric Rac. We will see.. the possibilities are endless!
Check my new blog out to see what is cooking in the kitchen as well as in my craft room!
